ALCS Preview: Toronto Blue Jays At Kansas City Royals

It’s an American League Championship Series rematch 30 years in the making: Toronto Blue Jays against the Kansas City Royals. So, to prepare for this epic match up, here is a breakdown of what you need to know for Game 1:
When: Friday, October 16, 2015 at 7:30pm on Fox

The Matchup:
The Blue Jays will send RHP Marco Estrada out for the first game of the American League Championship Series. He has made one postseason start so far this year, the last one in Game 3 of the ALDS, going six one third innings against the Rangers with one run allowed on 5 hits and earning the win. Estrada has faced the Royals twice in 2015, going 1-1, both appearances occurred back in July. The Royals have hit a combined .245 against Estrada this season. Of the Royals to have success against the righty, Lorenzo Cain and Eric Hosmer are Kansas City’s best chance at getting a victory in Game 1, both have hit above .300 against him.
RHP Edinson Volquez will take the hill in Game 1 of the ALCS for the Royals. This will be the right-hander’s second playoff appearance this season. His last being in Game 3 of the ALDS against the Astros when he struck out eight while allowing three runs on five hits. This regular season Volquez has held the Blue Jays to a .220 batting average in two starts, with just 4 runs allowed.
