Alex Rodriguez Gets First Spring Hit

381-2 (1)

The long awaited return of Alex Rodriguez to the New York Yankess and the batters box wasn’t anything made for the movies; there wasn’t any high drama home run to win the game.

But in his first game action since being suspended for the entire 2014 season for his involvement in the Biogenesis scandal, AROD batting in the DH spot, hit a line drive to left field.  In his next three at bats, he would ground into a force out and then walk to end his day.

“I was happy I just made contact, and I was pleasantly surprised it was a base hit,” Rodriguez tells ESPN. “I was a little nervous. I told [plate umpire Marty Foster] to take it easy on the old man — it’s been a long time since I’ve been in the box.”
