- Updated: July 2, 2015
The Houston Astros right fielder George Springer was added to the 15 Day DL on Thursday due to a fractured right wrist.
Springer was hit by a pitch in the fifth inning on Wednesday night by Kansas City Royals’ pitcher Edison Volquez. The twenty-five year old then stayed in the game and played the outfield in the top of the sixth but was removed in the bottom of the inning for pinch-hitter Domingo Santana.
The former first round draft pick is batting .264 so far this season along with thirteen homers and twenty-nine RBIs along with fourteen stolen bases.
No official timetable has been set yet on when Springer will return.
The Astros in the end, defeated the Royals 5-3 and completed the series sweep.
