And here it is, the first big move of the offseason as the Atlanta Braves traded top shortstop Andrelton Simmons to the LA Angels in a three player deal Thursday night.
The Braves will receive two prospects, LHP Sean Newcomb and RHP Chris Ellis as well as seasoned veteran Erick Aybar as well as an estimated $2.5 million.
While Simmons is under team control for the next five seasons, Aybar will be a free agent after the 2016 season which means that the Angels would get a franchise player in Simmons.
While neither team has officially confirmed, details may not be final.
