Brian Wilson Designated For Assignment

In order to make room on their roster for newly signed pitcher Brandon McCarthy, the Los Angeles Dodgers needed to make a move.  It was announced today that the Dodgers have designated relief pitcher Brian Wilson for assignment.

Wilson, 32, appeared in 61 games in 2014 posting a record of 2-4 with an ERA of 4.29.

He had an abbreviated 2013 coming back from injury and looked to be back to his old tricks, but 2014 didn’t go the way he or the Dodgers had hoped.  It isn’t a surprise that the moves keep coming with this team since they have been one of the busiest.

Wilson is still owed $9.5 million this season so it is a bit strange that they didn’t try to trade him.

John has recently graduated from the University at Albany with a B.A. in History and is currently finishing his Master's Degree there as well in secondary education. After being away from school for over two decades he decided to go back and work towards his dream of becoming a social studies teacher.
