Class-A: Bakersfield’s Moore No-Hits Lake Elsinore Through Seven On Friday

On Friday night, Bakersfield Blaze starter Andrew Moore didn’t allow a hit through seven shutout innings. He was removed from the game after he threw 97 pitches, 70 for strikes.
Moore was drafted by the Mariners in the 2nd round of the 2015 MLB June Amateur Draft. He pitched in 2015 with the Class-A Short Season Everett AquaSox, and in 14 appearnces (8 starts), he was 1-1, with a 2.08 ERA and 43 strikeouts in 39 innings.
The Blaze, the Class-A affiliate of the Seattle Mariners, went on to win the game 10-0, behind a 14 hit attack from their offense. As for the no-hitter, the bullpen allowed a single in the eighth to end the chance of a history making game, but was able to secure Moore’s first victory on the season.
Bakersfield scored five runs in the first, highlighted by a two-RBI double off the bat of Kyle Petty and a bases loaded double from Daniel Torres.
In the third, Bakersfield added five more runs on another RBI double from Torres, and two-RBI doubles from Austin Wilson and Petty.
With the victory, the Blaze improved to 6-9, while the Storm dropped to 8-8.
