Clayton Kershaw Back On Track After Scare
- Updated: March 27, 2015
There didn’t seem to be much to it, even though it was a sudden scare for the Los Angeles Dodgers when Clayton Kershaw was hit in the face by a line drive on March 20 against the Oakland A’s. The incident happen in the third inning when a ball off the bat of A’s third baseman Andy Parrino, seemed to get Kershaw right on the left side of the face and knocked him down a bit, but not out. The 6’3″ Dallas, Tx native, got up after the blow and continued was able to pitch five innings that day.
On Thursday, Kershaw was back on the mound and didn’t seem to be fazed as he struck out eight batters over six frames, while allowing one run on four hits, lowering his ERA to 1.86 and posting his third win on the spring.
The reigning three-time Cy Young Winner looks poised to have another great season and maybe this year he can finally add one more hardware to his ever growing trophy case and that could be a World Series ring.
The Dodgers do look to be strong again and 2015 could be a promising season, but it will all start with their Ace and after rebounding and putting together a gusty performance on Thursday, there is no doubt that Kershaw is the man to lead this Dodgers squad.
