The Chicago Cubs may have entered another off-season without a World Series Championship, 107 years and counting, but they may be on the verge of finally ending that streak.
On Friday they added free agent Jason Heyward to replace Dexter Fowler, who left via free agency. The deal is reportedly worth eight years and $184 million, with two opt-outs.
Heyward, who played last season with the rival Cardinals, batted .293, with 16 home runs and 60 RBI’s. Now he will man center field for the Cubs and join Ben Zobrist and Cardinals teammate John Lackey to help bring a title back to the Cubs faithful.
Theo Epstein continues his magic.
