After spending the last four seasons in his native Cuba playing ball, RHP Yaisel Sierra is now officially a part of Major League Baseball here in the States.
The 24 year-old signed a six year deal with the Los Angeles Dodgers on Tuesday which according to MLB.com, is worth $30 million, pending a physical.
His stats in the Cuban League are a bit wild with a 16-21 record and a 4.23 ERA as a starter. It seems though that the Dodgers will look to use Sierra as a reliever since they have been building their starting rotation this offseason.
Sierra has a fastball that hits the high 90’s along and have alternative pitches in the slider and changeup which are technically still being worked on since those aren’t commonly used in Cuba.
