Durham’s Bellati and Arencibia Lead Bulls In Shutout Over Buffalo

The Durham Bulls (15-11) and the Buffalo Bisons (15-10) played in front of 4,234 fans at Durham Bulls Athletic Park on a warm spring night, with the Bulls pulling away late for a 7-0 victory.

The Bulls sent righty Andrew Bellatti (2-0, 2.11) to the mound against Bisons southpaw Andrew Albers (1-4, 2.86).

Both teams were kept scoreless for the first three and half innings until the Bulls finally broke through and scored a run in the bottom of the fourth on a solo home run by J.P. Arencibia.

Durham pitchers kept the Bisons scoreless the rest of the way as the Bulls kept putting runs on the board, with three in the bottom of the sixth, two in the seventh, and one in the eighth. The scoring was highlighted by Corey Brown‘s run scoring triple in the sixth and Arencibia’s second home run of the game and Brown’s solo shot in the seventh. For good measure, Arencibia added a run scoring single in the bottom of the eighth.
