For the second time in just over a few weeks, we have chosen another Fort Myers Miracle ball player as our Florida State League Player of the Week.

During the week spanning May 15 to May 21, Minnesota Twins prospect Chris Paul, had himself a great week at the plate, batting .480 (12 for 25), with nine runs scored, five doubles, two home runs, nine RBIs, and six walks.

On May 16 he had a walk-off home run and on May 20th, Paul had a walk-off single.

The 24-year-old is also having a great month of May as he is batting .370 (27 for 73), while hitting safely in 16 of 19 games. Currently the 6th round pick of the 2015 draft is enjoying a 10-game hitting streak, with six multi-hit games in that span.

On the season, Paul is batting .341 (57 for 167), with 27 runs, 13 doubles, three home runs, and 23 RBIs in 42 games.

Over the past week, the Miracle nearly swept all their games played, as they settled for a 6-1 record, sweeping a four-game series against the Clearwater Threshers, and taking two of three from the Bradenton Marauders.  Both the Threshers and the Marauders are tops in their respective divisions.

Congratulations to Chris Paul for being named Legends on Deck’s Florida State League Player of the Week, spanning May 15-21.

The Tampa Yankees Chris Gittens had another great week at the plate batting .391 (9 for 23), with five runs scored, two doubles, three home runs, six RBIs and eight walks.

The Bradenton Marauders Ke’Bryan Hayes also was a strong candidate for our Player of the Week as he batted .435 (10 for 23), with three runs scored, a double, triple, five RBIs and two walks.

On the mound, the Tampa Yankees Josh Rogers was 2-0, with a 0.00 ERA, 7 H, 0 R, 3 BB, 15 K in 13.2 IP.

The Lakeland Flying Tigers Kyle Funkhouser was also dynamic on the mound over the past week winning a game, while tossing 13.2 IP, and allowing 9 H, 2 R, 3 BB, with 18 strike outs.
