Florida State League: Top Prospects Shine On Opening Night

The 2017 Florida State League minor league season began on Thursday night with all 12 teams on tap, and it marked the beginning of another exciting Class-A Advanced baseball season.

The Jupiter Hammerheads, Palm Beach Cardinals, Daytona Tortugas, Clearwater Threshers, Lakeland Flying Tigers and the defending champs, the Bradenton Marauders all came out on top with a victory, while the Fort Myers Miracle, St. Lucie Mets, Charlotte Stone Crabs, Florida Fire Frogs, Dunedin Blue Jays, and Tampa Yankees all dropped their first game.

While it was just game one, some of baseball’s Top Prospects didn’t waste any time, shining brightly on opening night.

There is still more exciting baseball to be played, and with roughly 75 Top Prospects in the league, the season is gearing up to be a very competitive year.
