FSL: Clearwater Walks-Off Jupiter To Win League Leading 18th Game

The Clearwater Threshers lead the Florida State League North Division by three games and own the leagues best record at 18-9.

On Wednesday night the Threshers added to the win column with a walk-off 4-3 victory over the Jupiter Hammerheads.

Clearwater took an early 1-0 lead in the bottom of the second after a sac fly off the bat of Grenny Cumana, scoring Jan Hernandez.

The Hammerheads answered back with two runs in the top of the third on solo bombs from Zach Sullivan and Stone Garrett.

In the bottom of the 4th, Austin Bossart put the Threshers back out on top with a two run shot to left field to make the score 3-2.

But Jupiter rallied for a run in the top of the ninth, tying he game at 3-3 and after Hammerheads Jose Quijada worked around three walks in the bottom of the ninth, the game went into extra innings.

In the bottom of the 11th, Hernandez scored the winning run ahead of Drew Stankiewicz‘s game winning single.

With the loss Jupiter dropped to 12-15.
