Game Of The Week Preview: Brewers vs. D-Backs 4:10 PM

The Brewers and Diamondbacks will face off in the final game of the four game series on Sunday with first pitch scheduled for a 4:10 PM start.

Arizona took the first game from Milwaukee with an offensive hitting attack, scoring eight runs on 13 hits behind A.J. Pollock‘s 3 for 5 game, with a triple and two RBI’s. Zack Godley made his debut and struck out seven batters, allowing just four hits in six shutout innings to pick up his first MLB victory.

On Friday, the Brewers answered back by taking game two of the series with a 2-1 victory behind Ryan Braun‘s 18th homer of the season. Jimmy Nelson tossed seven shutout innings, allowing five hits, three walks and struck out five to win his eighth game of the season.  Frankie Rodriguez pitched the ninth and allowed a run but induced a ground ball to end the game and earn his 22nd save of the season.

On Saturday, the seesaw series continued as the D-Backs scored two runs in the bottom of the first and hung on for the shutout victory. Rubby De La Rosa went eight innings, allowing four hits, no runs, walking two and struck out six to earn his eighth victory on the season. The Brewers Taylor Jungmann struck out seven batters in six innings, allowing just two runs on four hits but the Brewers offense was shut down dropping their starter to 5-2.

Milwaukee Brewers

The Brewers will send righthander Matt Garza (5-10, 5.23) to the mound to build on his last start where he lasted six innings, allowing six hits, no runs, two walks with four strikeouts. Prior to his last start, Garza was on the DL with a sore shoulder.

Arizona Dimaondbacks

The D-Backs will send righty Jeremy Hellickson (6-6, 4.87 ERA) to the mound to face-off against Garza as he looks to rebound from his last start that ended in a 3-0 loss to the Miami Marlins. Hellickson tossed seven innings, allowing just two runs on five hits, with no walks and six strikeouts in the loss.
