Game Of The Week: Brewers’ Garrett Cooper Named FSL Player Of The Week


Milwaukee Brewers’ first base prospect Garrett Cooper was named Florida State League Player of the Week for his performance throughout the week of July 13-19, 2015.

The 24 year old Cooper who plays with the High- A Brevard County Manatees in the FSL had eleven hits along with a .478 batting average in six games. He also hit two homers and seven RBIs, scored four runs.

So far this season he his hitting .284 with 43 RBIs and four homers in the ninety games he has played so far this season. Last season with the Manatees he played in fifty-three games batting .238 along with two homers and 16 RBIs.

Cooper was drafted by the Brewers in the 6th Round of the 2013 MLB Draft while playing at Auburn University and can play both first and third base. In his last season with Auburn he made the Second Team All- SEC as he hit for a league leading .354 and his on base percentage is ninth in the University’s history for one season.
