Wood arrived in Los Angeles through a three team and 13 player trade last season. The 25-year-old spent three seasons with the Atlanta Braves before he was acquired by the Dodgers. Wood has career record of 27-29 and a 3.38 overall ERA.

Storylines of the Series

Yoenis Cespedes has been a major part of the Mets’ offense this season. He leads MLB with 15 home runs and his 36 RBIs ranks him third behind Seattle’s Robinson Cano and Boston’s David Ortiz who hold down the first and second RBI ranks respectively. The Mets have just 18 errors on the season which is tied with the Washington Nationals for the fewest in MLB.

Dodgers’ 22-year-old SS Corey Seager has seven home runs, 23 RBIs, and a .269 AVG. Meanwhile, CF Joc Pederson has 8 home runs, 22 RBIs and a .254 AVG. Chase Utley leads Los Angeles with a .291 AVG.
