Game Of The Week: Royals Homer Their Way To 6-1 Win

In the the rubber match of the “Game of the Week” series between the Baltimore Orioles and Kansas City Royals, the defending World Series Champions were led by Eric Hosmer and Alex Gordon who both homered in the 6-1 victory to take the series.
The O’s took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first when Mark Trumbo hit a RBI single off of Royals’ starter Yordano Ventura to send home Manny Machado.
In the bottom of the fourth, Alex Gordon helped the Royals tie the game at one with a solo homerun on a fly ball to left field off of the Orioles’ Mike Wright.
Eric Homer helped the Royals with a solo homerun on a line drive to right field for the go ahead run and a 2-1 ballgame.
In the bottom of the seventh the Royals continued their hitting streak against Wright with back to back RBI doubles by Christian Colon and Drew Butera.
Wright pitched six and one third innings allowing five runs on eight hits; striking out four batters, he was charged with the loss (1-2).
He was then relieved by Dylan Bundy who would then allow consecutive RBI singles to Mike Moustakas and Lorenzo Cain for the 6-1 ballgame.
Ventura pitched seven innings allowing just one run on three hits; walking two and striking out four, he earned the win (2-0).
