The Buffalo Bisons and Rochester Red Wings were deadlocked at 0-0 in the ninth inning on Saturday, when Rochester’s Josmil Pinto took a 3-1 offering from Bo Schultz over the left center wall for a 2-run walk-off home run to win the game 2-0.  With the win the RedWings improve to 2-0, while the Buffalo Bisons fall to 0-2.

Bisons’ starting pitcher Scott Copeland held the Red Wings hitless through six and a third innings until the eventual hero Josmil Pinto mustered a single off him in the seventh.  Pinto recorded both hits for Rochester, with his second hit of the game being the biggie.

Rochester sent Taylor Rogers to the hill who was equally as impressive in seven innings despite giving up six hits, all singles.  Both pitchers had no-hit bids going through the first four innings.

Buffalo had the best chance to score in the fifth inning only to have it wasted on a spectacular fielding play by Rochester’s outfielder Aaron Hicks.  Hicks fielded a single that was hit by Josh Thole and gunned down the runner that was trying to score from second to keep the score 0-0.  Buffalo would have another chance in the sixth but couldn’t capitalize.

Unfortunately for both Copeland and Rogers, the team had to hand the ball over to their respective bullpens to try and close it out.  Both sides were matching zeros until the bottom of the ninth when Bo Schultz came in and served up the game winner to Pinto.

Caleb Thielbar would record the win for Rochester which was his first of the season.  The series finale is scheduled for Sunday with the first pitch at 1:35pm est.  The probable starters are Randy Wolf (0-0, 0.oo) for Buffalo and Jason Wheeler (0-0, 0.00) for Rochester.
