Cubs Phenom Goes Yard Again

Update – March 24 – 9:40 pm

Ok, there is no reason to even debate it any longer, because the kid has done it again. Kris Bryant hit his spring training leading ninth home run on Tuesday against the Oakland Athletics and with only a week so left before the season starts, the anticipation rises as we all wait and see if the Cubs Phenom will break camp with the club.

Maybe there should be a Kris Bryant Countdown clock and add even more pressure to Theo Epstein and the Cubs organization.  Hey, it can’t hurt.

The kid deserves his shot now, award him for his hard work and great talents.

Original Post – March 22

The Cubs have a phenom on their hands and his name is Kris Bryant.

The top prospect is unstoppable this spring as he continues to launch the ball over the fence.  On Saturday, he added two more home runs to his total and now he has eight on the spring. He is actually leading the Cactus and Grapefruit leagues in that category along with 14 RBI’s.

In his first at bat against the Seattle Mariners Felix Hernandez, he launched a 2-2 pitch deep over the left field fence for a two-run home run.

In the bottom of the fourth, Bryant mimicked his first at bat, as he again sent another 2-2 count, this time from Kevin Correia, over the left center field wall for homer number two on the day.

There isn’t much more that the 23-year old needs to prove and if the Cubs really want to win this season, Bryant needs to be on the Opening Day line-up.
