Legends On Deck’s Top 25 Prospects: No.’s 13-8

12. Dylan Bundy, RHP

Team: Orioles

Age: 22

Height: 6’1

Weight: 195

Bats/Throws: Both/Right

Bundy returned to the mound after missing all of 2013 due to Tommy John surgery. Toeing the rubber less than a year removed from the procedure, the right-hander threw 41.1 innings with a 3.27 ERA. He struck out 37 and walked 16.

The former 4th overall pick in 2011 was the top pitching prospect in the game before getting injured. At his best, he uses his athletic build and easy delivery to showcase a nasty array of pitches. His fastball sits in the mid to upper 90’s and explodes on hitters. His curveball is already an above average offering, with tight spin and break. He throws a changeup that flashes plus potential. Scouts say his best pitch is his cutter, which shows late life and gives hitters fits, but the Orioles have been reluctant to let him throw it.

Outlook: Health going forward is the only thing stopping his rise to the top of the Orioles rotation. Ace-like potential.

Risk: Medium due almost entirely to injury-related issues. Must build innings/velocity back up.

ETA: 2015
