Mariners Land Trumbo From D-Backs In 6-Player Swap
- Updated: June 4, 2015
On Wednesday, the Seattle Mariners added a power bat and a left handed pitcher in a 6-player trade with the Arizona Diamondbacks.
The Mariners land power hitter Mark Trumbo along with pitcher Vidal Nuno for right handed reliever Dominic Leone, catcher Welington Castillo, and top prospects Gabby Guerrero and Jack Reinheimer.
Prior to the trade Trumbo was batting .259, with 10 doubles, three triples, nine home runs, and 23 RBI for the D-Backs so far this season.
With the recent slide, in which they have lost five straight games, the Mariners are looking for another bat to complement Nelson Cruz, which may also take some pressure off the slumping Robinson Cano.
