The New York Mets catching prospect Adrian Abreu will serve an 80 game suspension after testing positive on Thursday for Stanozolol, which is a steroid banned by Major League Baseball.
MiLB.com reports that Abreu will start the suspension immediately.
Abreu, who signed with the Mets in 2010, split time in 2015 between Class-A Savannah Sand Gnats and Class-A Advanced St. Lucie and in 64 at bats, he hit just .188, with three doubles, and five RBI’s.
