Marlins Fire Manager

The Miami Marlins have parted ways with the manager Mike Redmond and bench coach Rob Leary, after the club the Marlins lose to the Atlanta Braves 6-0 on Sunday. The team started the season a disappointing 16-22.

The Marlins are losers of their last three games, and sit in fourth place in the National League East division and trail the first place Mets by six games.

Redmond replaced Ozzie Guillen after the 2012 season and since has posted a 155-206 record as the Marlins failed to finish higher then fourth during his leadership.

The organization will announce the skippers replacement during an 11 am ET news conference on Monday.

Thor Wins First MLB Game

The Mets top pitching prospect Noah Syndergaard won his first major league game on Sunday in a 5-1 Mets victory over the Milwaukee Brewers.  Syndergaard tossed six innings, allowing one run on three hits, walking one and striking out five.

Carlos Gomez Hit In Head

In the same game that saw Noah Syndergaard win his first MLB game, Carlos Gomez was hit in the head by a Thor 97 MPH fastball that ran up inside and knocked the Brewers outfielder to the ground.  After a few moments with the trainer he was helped off the field and out of the game.

Based on reports he suffered a facial contusion but no concussion and will attempt to play on Monday.
