It’s being reported that the Mets have landed Yoenis Cespedes from the Detroit Tigers for two minor leaguers, pitchers Michael Fulmer and Luis Cessa.
The Mets lost on getting Carlos Gomez earlier in the week due to a medical report GM Sandy Alderson did not agree with, as it showed that Gomez had a bad hip, but landing Cespedes will definitely get all Mets fans excited about having a big slugger in the line-up.
Cespedes, who has been in the league for six seasons, has a career .269 batting average with 89 home runs and 323 RBIs. Currently he is batting .293, with 28 doubles, 18 home runs, and 61 RBIs.
The Mets have added a huge upgrade to their lineup, which should make their run at the division title even more interesting.
GM Alderson may have upset most fans with how Wilmer Flores was left out to dry regarding the potential trade with the Brewers, but after this pickup, all may be good for the rest of the 2015 season.
