The Los Angeles Dodgers and the Arizona Diamondbacks faced off on Saturday night with L.A. looking to send the series back to Arizona up 2-0, while the D-Backs were hoping to tie it up at 1-1.

The Diamondbacks got off to a quick start when Paul Goldschmidt hit the first pitch he saw in the top of the first over the left field wall, scoring A.J. Pollock and putting Arizona up 2-0.

But the Dodgers battled back with a run in the second, two in the fourth and four in the fifth to take a 7-2 lead. The barrage of runs came on a bases loaded wild pitch, RBI singles from Chris Taylor, Logan Forsythe, Yasiel Puig and mixed in with a 2-RBI double off the bat of Austin Barnes.

The Diamondbacks got three runs back on one swing when Brandon Drury launched a three-run bomb over the left field fence, scoring Jake Lamb and Ketel Marte to pull within two at 7-5 in the seventh.

L.A. answered right back with a run in the bottom of the seventh to extend the lead to 8-5.  With the bases loaded, Taylor hit a hard ground ball that went under the glove of Marte allowing a run to score.  Archie Bradley struck out Corey Seager and was able to induce a pop up off the bat of Justin Turner to end the threat.

Closer Kenley Jansen was called on in the eighth with a runner in scoring position and one out quickly struck out Chris Iannetta on three pitches and got Lamb to ground out to third base.

In the ninth, Jansen retired the Diamondbacks in order, sending the Dodgers to a commanding 2-0 series lead.

Game three is scheduled for Monday at 10:00 pm ET in Arizona, with 10 game winner Yu Darvish matching up against 17 game winner Zack Greinke.
