NLDS Game 2: Jose Lobaton Leads Nats To Win Over LA; Series Tied At 1
- Updated: October 9, 2016
Inclement weather forced the LA Dodgers and Washington Nationals to reschedule Game 2 of the NLDS on Saturday afternoon until Sunday.
That extra day may have given the Nats the extra motivation they needed to tie the series at one game a piece with the 5-2 win.
The Dodgers took an early 1-0 in the top of the first as Corey Seager hit a solo homerun on a line drive to right; his second of this series.
In the top of the third the Dodgers took another run from Roark with a RBI single by Josh Reddick to send Justin Turner home.
Th Nationals took a 3-2 lead in the bottom of the fourth when Jose Lobaton’s three run homer off of Hill is what the Nats needed to take the lead and never look back.
Daniel Murphy, who went 3 for 3 on the day, tack on two more runs with RBI singles in the bottom of the fifth and seventh to extended the lead to 5-2.
Neither starting pitcher would make it through the fifth as Roark went 4.1 inning allowing two runs on seven hits; walking three and striking out just one. Hill also went 4.1 innings; allowing four runs on six hits; walking two and striking out seven batters.
Justin Turner: 2 for 3/ R
