The Baltimore Orioles top pitching prospect Dylan Bundy will likely miss the rest of the 2015 season after a right shoulder injury he sustained on Monday afternoon.

Bundy had Tommy John surgery in 2013 and this season he appeared in eight games as he is working his way back into shape.

Orioles manager Buck Showalter spoke with MLB.com regarding Bundy’s status, “He’s just kind of shut down for the near future. For a while. Kind of let everything calm down, see where we are. But, depending on how you look at it, probably as good of news [on the MRI showed no structural damage] as you can expect. I obviously know a lot more than I’m going to talk about… he won’t be throwing for a little while. See how that is.”

According to MiLB.com, Showalter said that Bundy could be shut down for the season. This season Bundy is 0-3, a 3.68 ERA, with 25 strikeouts in 22.0 innings.

In other Orioles top prospect news, right hander Matt Hobgood will undergo right shoulder surgery in early July. He finished the season 1-1, with a 6.52 ERA in six relief appearances.
