Rangers Keep Rolling Along With Sweep Of Astros

The AL West division was all but won by the Houston Astros, well that is until the Texas Rangers decided that their season was not over yet.  And now as of Friday, September 18th, the Rangers sit at 79-67, 2.5 games up on the Astros after their four-game sweep of Houston.

Can it be said that the Rangers just demolished the Astros season, after coming from behind to break their hearts? Is there still hope for the Astros to sneak in via the Wild Card?

With 13 games left in the regular season, the Rangers will face the Astros again next weekend in Houston, which could be the series that decides the division. Well that is if the Astros get it together and stop the landslide.

Houston is home this weekend for a three game series with the last place Oakland A’s, then they face the LA Angels, who are looking to sneak into the last Wild Card spot.

Texas meanwhile will face the lifeless Mariners starting on Friday then after an off day on Monday, they will battle with Oakland. All the while gearing up for another Texas showdown with the Astros in Houston.

One team is on the rise while the other has fallen hard, but the next week of games can determine which team is ready to take the division title.

My prediction is, the Astros have run out of steam and the Rangers are soaring at the right time, either way the AL West division is coming down to an exciting end.

Pennant Race Baseball, nothing better.
