Rickie Weeks Signs With Mariners

ESPN reports that Rickie Weeks and the Seattle Mariners have agreed on a one-year deal worth $2 million, with another $2 million in incentives.

Weeks played his whole career with the Milwaukee Brewers and in 11 seasons he batted .249, with 148 home runs and 430 RBIs. His best season came in 2010 when he hit .269, with 29 home runs and 83 RBI’s and in 2011 he made the all-star team, finishing the season batting .269 with 20 home runs.

With second base being his main position, ESPN reports that Weeks will compete for playing time for an outfield corner position and back up Robinson Cano at second base.
