Class-A: RiverDogs Collin Slaybaugh Stays Perfect In Two Games

The Charleston River Dogs catcher Collin Slaybaugh made his Class-A Full season debut on Wednesday and all he did was go 4 for 4 with two runs scored and two stolen bases.

On Thursday the New York Yankees catching prospect followed that up with another 4 for 4 night, with two runs scored, but this time he added a double and three RBI’s to his totals.

Slaybaugh was drafted by Yankees in the 26th round of the 2014 draft out of Washington State University in Pullman, Washington.

After the draft the Yankees placed him on the Class-A Short Season Staten Island Yankees of the NY-Penn League and in 32 games, he batted .241, with 14 runs, 12 RBI and 15 walks.

On Tuesday his four singles and two runs scored helped the RiverDogs to a 6-3 victory over the Augusta GreenJackets. On Thursday the RiverDogs evened their record at 27-27 and Slaybaugh’s big night helped propel the team to another victory, their third inn a row to pull within four games of first place.

Will be interesting to see how the young catching prospect fares in his next at bat. Either way he has enjoyed a great start to his Class-A career.
