Royals Join The Run Scoring Frenzy With 10-2 Victory

Not sure what is going on lately in the majors, but runs are coming in bunches and in the last two days six teams have scored more than 10 runs including the Kansas City Royals with their own 10 run outburst.

On Wednesday, the Royals pounded the Milwaukee Brewers for 10 runs on 12 hits en route to a 10-2 victory, their third straight and 37th overall on the season.

The American League Central leaders found themselves down 1-0 early in the game, but in the bottom of the second, they scored three runs on a sac fly by Alex Rios and RBI singles from Omar Infante and Alcides Escobar.

In the Royals half of the fifth inning, three more runs would cross the plate on an RBI triple by Lorenzo Cain, single by Kendrys Morales and a sac fly off the bat of Alex Gordon.

The Brewers got one back on an RBI ground out from Gerardo Parra scoring Shane Peterson to cut the lead to 6-2.  But the Royals weren’t done and put the game away with four runs in the bottom of the eighth, highlighted by a bases loaded triple by Escobar.

The Royals are 7-3 in their last 10 games and lead the second place Minnesota Twins by 3.5 games.
