- Updated: December 26, 2014

The Washington Nationals signed second baseman Dan Uggla on Friday to a minor league contract with an invitation to Spring Training.
On July 18, 2014, the Braves released Uggla and the Giants signed him as a free agent three days later. The 34-year old infielder lasted less than the month with the Giants and was released on August 7th.
In 2014, Uggla batted a combined .149, with two home runs and 46 strike outs in 141 at bats.
The three-time all star second baseman has had his struggles at the plate in the past few seasons, but now joins the Nationals looking to get back on track.
