Major League Baseball made a swift decision over the weekend to suspend Chase Utley for his action in causing Mets shortstop Ruben Tejada to break his leg.
But Utley did not agree with the suspension so he appealed the decision and initially it was to be heard on Monday in New York, the site of Game three.
MLB.com reported on Monday that the appeal will unlikely be heard on Monday, and as Benigno and Roberts stated on Monday on WFAN 660, that the Players Union got involved and said they needed more than a few minutes to make their case. They have 14 days before the appeal can be heard.
So with that said, Chase Utley will more than likely be ready to suit up for the Dodgers in Game three of the NLDS at Citi Field and against Matt Harvey.
