With Trade Deadline Near, Astros And Pirates Improve Roster
- Updated: July 24, 2015

Once again we are at that time of the season when teams focus on what they need for their rosters and head to the Trading Deadline either buyers or sellers.
The Oakland Athletics on Monday sent Scott Kazmir to the Houston Astros in return for Astros prospects catcher Jacob Nottingham and right hander Daniel Mengden.
The Pittsburgh Pirates re-acquired third baseman Aramis Ramirez, twelve years after they traded him away in 2003 to the Chicago Cubs.
Ramirez is expected to retire after the season, so what better way to go out a winner and take the team that drafted him to play pro ball to a World Series.
Other Trade News….
According to MLB.com, the New York Mets GM Sandy Alderson made it clear to media on Thursday that the organization will not move their four young players (Matt Harvey, Jacob deGrom, Noah Syndergaard, and Steven Matz) in their rotation. Good news for Mets fans, but the team needs a boost to their offense and it may take a young stud to make the deal happen.
