When learning of the latest New York Yankees move, I was truly unaware that the Seattle Seahawks star QB Russell Wilson was still active in baseball. Well his active status will now take his talents to the Yankees as the Texas Rangers completed a trade with New York sending the Two-Sport player to New York.

Wilson, who is mostly known as the QB who led the Seahawks to their first Super Bowl crown in 2014, was drafted by the Colorado Rockies in the 4th round of the 2010 June Amateur Draft out of North Carolina State University (Raleigh, NC).

In two minor league seasons, between Low-A and Full Season A-Ball, Wilson had a slash of .229/.354/.356, with nine doubles, eight triples, five home runs, 26 RBIs and 19 stolen bases.

In 2013, the Rangers took Wilson in the Rule 5 Draft and the Cincinnati, OH native worked out with the club in Sprinmg Training in both 2014 and 2015, but did not appear in any games.

On Wednesday, Wilson’s dream came true as he will now don the Yankees pinstripes with the hope of one day reaching the big leagues.
