Yankees’ Mark Payton Named FSL Player Of The Week

Tampa Yankees’ outfielder Mark Payton was named the Florida State League Player of the Week for his outstanding performance this past week April 19th until April 25, 2016.
In the six games that Payton played, he hit .389 along with two homers and a double; scoring four runs and batted in 9 runs and a total of seven hits. His slugging percentage was .778 and an OBP of .520 in a total of eighteen at-bats.
In seventeen games so far with the Tampa Yankees this season, he has hit .328 and a team-leading 15 RBIs.
The twenty-four year old was drafted by the New York Yankees in the seventh round of the 2014 MLB Draft. by the New York Yankees at the University of Texas at Austin. He was previously drafted by the Minnesota Twins and the Cleveland Indians but didn’t sign with either team.
Payton led the Florida State League, A Class-A Advanced league in 2015, with a .390 on-base percentage.
