AL Player of the Week: Astros Carlos Correa

The Houston Astros shortstop Carlos Correa earned his second AL Player of the week honors from MLB as well as from our staff for his hot hitting from August 8 – 14.
Correa entered the week already having hit in three straight games and six of his last seven and finished the week on a 10 game hitting streak including four multi-hit games.
The Puerto Rican native hit three home runs in three games, which included a doubleheader on August 11th against the Minnesota Twins when he homered in each of the games.
For the week he batted .46 (13 for 28), with six runs scored, three doubles, three home runs, and 12 RBIs.
On the season, the second year shortstop is batting .277, with 18 home runs, and 82 RBIs’, and so far is having a better sophomore season. In 2015, he hit .279, with 22 home runs and 68 RBIs.
