During the 2017 season, Alex Bregman, who was playing in just his second season in the majors, won the World Series with the Houston Astros. That season he batted .284, with 39 doubles, five triples, 19 home runs and 71 RBIs.

The next season he stepped it up and put video game numbers on the board, as he hit 51 doubles, 31 home runs, while driving in 103 batters through 157 games. Prior to the All Star break, he batted .288, with 31 doubles and 20 home runs, earning him his first All Star selection.

In 2019, he led the Astros back to the World Series, after hitting .296, with 37 doubles, 41 home runs and 112 RBIs. But the ‘Stros would lose Game 7 to the Washington Nationals, preventing them from earning their second title in three seasons. He also earned his second All Star selection and came in second for the AL MVP award.

The 2020 season was cut short due to the Pandemic, and Bregman appeared in 42 of the 60 games, batting .242, with 12 doubles, six home runs and 22 RBIs. The games started late on July 24th, and by August 20th, Bregman was out with an injury that cost him two stints on the injured list. The Astros finished two games under .500 at 29-31, ending their string of five straight above .500 seasons.

During the 2021 season, Bregman continued to suffer through injuries which would keep him off the field and limit him to just 91 games. He did make the most of his time on the field, as he hit .270, with 17 doubles, 12 home runs and drove in 55 runners. Even with Bregman limited, the Astros made it back to the World Series, but lost to the Atlanta Braves in six games.

In 2022, Bregman was healthy and it showed as he played in 155 games, hit 38 doubles, 23 home runs and drove in 93 runners, helping his team to get back to the World Series and for the first time since 2017, they won their second World Series title. In the postseason, Bregman batted .294, with three home runs and 11 RBIs.

A healthy Bregman is a dangerous Bregman and the Albuquerque, New Mexico native proved it in 2023 as he continued his trend back to an elite hitter, as he batted .262, with 28 doubles, four triples, 25 home runs and 98 RBIs through 161 games played.

Now the 2024 season looks to be a very special one for the Astros 3B, as he is enjoying one of his best spring training seasons since 2019 when he batted .323, with three home runs and seven RBIs through 15 games.

This spring season, Bregman is batting .383 (18 for 47) with two home runs and eight RBIs through 16 games. He has been hot throughout spring training, but over his last 10 games, he is batting .531 (17 for 32), with eight runs scored, four doubles, eight RBIs and a two-homer game on March 23rd. In that span, he also has six multi-hit games, three in his last three games and three 3-hit games in his last 10 games.

Truly the 2024 season looks to be the best year Bregman has enjoyed in nearly seven years. If his spring is any indication of what the season will be like, then lookout as the ‘Stros 3B is back with a vengeance.
