The Houston Astros sent Dallas Keuchel to the mound looking to gain an edge and win the pivotal game three of their five game series with the Kansas City Royals and he did not disappoint. The Houston Ace he tossed seven innings, allowing just one run, on five hits, walked three and struck out seven in the Astros 4-2 victory.
Both clubs remained scoreless until the top of the fourth when the Royals Lorenzo Cain led off the inning with his first postseason home run, giving Kansas City and early 1-0 lead.
An inning later the Astros answered back by taking a 2-1 lead on a two-run single from Jason Castro. In the sixth and seventh they added a run each to take a 4-1 lead, which was all they needed as the Royals managed just a single run in the top of the ninth, a solo shot from Alex Gordon.
The difference of the game, as it has been for most of these postseason games, was dominate pitching.
Now the Astros look to end the series and advance to the ALCS, when they face off against the Royals on Monday in Houston for Game Four. If the Royals can pull out a victory, Game Five will shift back to Kansas City on Wednesday.
