Back in November 2023, we introduced our followers here at Legends on Deck to Kash Shaikh, Co-Owner, CEO and Chairman of the Board of Baseball United and he spoke about the ownership group and their vision for creating the first ever Professional Baseball League focused on the Middle East and the Indian subcontinent.

After Kash was a guest on Episode 55 of the LOD Podcast, Baseball United hosted the first ever All Star Showcase in Dubai during Thanksgiving weekend, with some of the major stars of the MLB over the most recent decade: Robinson Cano, Bartolo Colon, Didi Gregorius, Pablo Sandoval, and Jair Jurrjens.

When Baseball United was started, their initial ownership group along with Shaikh (Co-Founder) and Jon P. Miedrich (Co-Founder), included MLB Hall of Famers Barry Larkin (Co-Founder), Mariano Rivera (Co-Founder) and Adrian Beltre, along with former MLB players Nick Swisher and Felix Hernandez.

As the new league has continued to take shape, so has their ownership group, which in the professional sports world is becoming the most prestigious player-led group. This elite group includes additional former and current MLB players, Elvis Andrus, Robinson Cano, Robinson Chirinos, Ryan Howard, Bartolo Colon, Hanley Ramirez, Matt Barnes, Shane Victorino, Luis Severino, Jair Jurrjens, Andrelton Simmons, Didi Gregorius and now newly minted as an owner, is MLB MVP, 4-Time All Star and current Atlanta Braves superstar, Ronald Acuña Jr.

As Baseball United looks to make a huge impact in the world of sports, especially in the Middle East and Indian Subcontinent, their prestigious owners group will help to bring even more attention to their league.

Baseball is no longer just an American Pastime, it is growing around the world exponentially and with Baseball United’s plans to inspire one billion fans to fall in love with the game, the league will help to change the way Baseball is viewed in a part of the world that has not experienced it all yet.

Its just the beginning for Baseball United and with each passing day, they continue to grow the game bigger than it has ever been.
