Class A Catcher Of The Week: Austin Allen-Padres

San Diego Padres catching prospect Austin Allen has not only had a week or month to talk about, he has had an entire season to talk about.
The twenty-two year old who has spent the entire season with the Class-A Fort Wayne TinCaps of the Midwest League where he has become the team standout and ranked as the 25th best prospect in the Padres’ Organization.
Allen had a twenty-four game hitting streak up until this past Friday, August 12th, and in the last ten games has hit .400 with fourteen hits and 10 RBIs.
He is hitting .320 this season with seven homers and 57 RBIs with a .364 OBP and .431 slugging.
He was also chosen as a 2016 Mid-Season All-Star, representing the TinCaps in the minor league mid-summer classic.
As a lefty hitter he has become a force at the plate and arm strength that is above average which makes his defensive skills look even better.
Allen was drafted in the 4th Round of the 2015 MLB Draft by the San Diego Padres.
