The twenty-three year old Baltimore Orioles’ catching prospect has had a standout season with the Delmarva Shorebirds of the South Atlantic League. He hit .343 in his last ten games with three homers and 7 RBIs and 12 hits in 35 at-bats. Mercedes was named to the Mid-Season All-Star team in the SAL this season and has earned  SAL Player of the Week honors twice in 2016.

He made his debut with the Keys on Monday night he went 0 for 3 with a walk but Mercedes won’t be down for long once he gets adjusted to his new surroundings.
