The Houston Astros are officially on a losing streak as they dropped their fifth straight game and are on the verge of dropping out of first if they do not turn the current slide around. The saving grace for the ‘Stros is that no one else in their division is playing well enough to challenge them other than Texas who also lost on Tuesday. The Rangers remain only three games out of first and are the hottest team in the West Division having won seven of their last 10 games.
But the night belonged to Astros top rookie, Carlos Correa, as he launched his first major league home run, while also driving in the only two runs Houston would score on the night. Actually, he has driven in the last three runs for the ‘Stros including an RBI single in Monday nights 3-1 loss to the White Sox.
Correa’s home run came in the top of the ninth with no one out and it pulled the Astros within 4-2. But the rest of the offense could not muster up any more runs, as they dropped their second straight to the White Sox.
The Astros will look to salvage the third game of the series with Chicago and halt their losing streak.
