Cubs Kris Bryant: A Star Is Born
Can the new Cubs all-star lead his team to the playoffs?
In his first major league season, the Chicago Cubs rookie phenom Kris Bryant will be an All-Star as he was added to the National League team as a reserve. What an honor for a young man that wowed the baseball world during his home run showcase in spring training and only to continue to turn heads as he has found success with the Cubs.
The Cubs third baseman is currently batting .279, with 14 double, two triples, 12 home runs, 49 RBI and 42 walks. The 23-year old slugger enjoyed a 12-game hitting streak in May, 14-game hit streak in mid-June and currently is on a seven game hit streak which started on June 28th and rolled into the new month.
Amongst other top rookies, Bryant is second in runs (44), first in hits (74), third in doubles (14), fourth in triples (2), third in home runs (12), first in RBI (49), second in walks (42), and second in OBP (.383).
Bryant is the real deal and if the Cubs are to pull out a championship as was predicted in the movie, Back to the Future II, the young rookie will be a big part of the success.
