Day 7: Visiting Rays Spring Camp

Day seven of my exclusive Legends On Deck journey through the Grapefruit League Spring Training took me on a one hour and a half trip just south of Tampa to Port Charlotte to visit the Tampa Bay Rays.
Unfortunately, it was physical day and practice was cut short….really short. However, I met a few operational personnel, that were extremely friendly and supportive of Legends On Deck and were proud to share the Rays Spring Training experience with me. They inspired me to cover they’re AA affiliate in Hudson, NY and the AAA Durham team when they visit Upstate New York.
First off, the stadium, Home of the Single-A Charlotte Stone Crabs, what an awesome stadium, equipped with a children’s playground in right field, need I say more to the Rays moms and dads?? Just beautiful field as well as the practice fields.

I was told that there was excellent fan player interaction, from my observations, and I don’t doubt it. The team store in the stadium provides an abundance of fan gear for the Rays addict, and from what I was told, there is a concession stand available during your spring training experience. Of course, I’ll say this, Parking is A+,with a quick convenient walk to the fields.
So my friends, I encourage you all to head down and experience it for yourselves, and please any die-hard Rays fans share with us and your fellow fans your own Rays spring training journey.
