Double-A

Double A Playoffs: Bowie & Trenton In EL Final, Southern/Texas League Final Teams Almost Set

EASTERN LEAGUE

The Bowie Baysox split the first two games of the Eastern League with the Harrisburg Senators, but on Friday took a 2-1 lead in the best of five game series with a 7-5 victory. Then on Saturday, the bats exploded with six runs in the first two innings, to take 6-0 lead before the Senators could blink. Harrisburg did manage a run in the bottom of the third, but the Baysox had their plans all set already for a trip to the finals, as they put up a five spot in the top of the seventh to take a commanding 12-1 lead. The Senators did manage to score two runs apiece in the seventh and eighth, but it was not enough to overcome the Baysox explosive offense, as they fell 12-5.

With the Victory the Baysox will face off against the Trenton Yankees, who took care of their five game series with the Reading Fightin Phils, by blanking them three games to nil.
