FSL: Fire Frogs Castro Has Monster Game At The Plate

On Wednesday morning, the Florida Fire Frogs faced off against the Daytona Tortugas in their rubber match, after both teams won a game apiece in their three-game series.
The Tortugas jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first after Alfredo Rodriguez scored ahead of a Shed Long double.
But in the top of the second, the Fire Frogs went to work. Tyler Neslony hit a lead-off double, then Carlos Castro homered over the left field wall putting Florida in the lead at 2-1. Then with two-outs, Wigberto Nevarez scored ahead of the last out of the inning, when Ray-Patrick Didder flied into a sacrifice double play.
In the top of the third, the Fire Frogs Castro kept swinging a hot bat, as he launched his second home run of the game, a two-run shot to put Florida up 5-1. In the bottom of the third, the Tortugas would add run more run before the Fire Frogs bullpen shut them down.
As for Florida’s offense, they weren’t done. From the fifth inning to the seventh, the Fire Frogs drove in nine runs highlighted by Castro’s third home run of the game, as he finished 5 for 5, with three runs scored, two singles, three home runs, and eight RBI’s. On the season, the Fire Frogs first baseman is batting .345, with six home runs and 27 RBIs.
With the victory, Florida evened their record at 17-17, while the Tortugas dropped to 19-15, with the loss.
