Giants Bumgarner Seeking Invite To Home Run Derby

The San Francisco Giants pitching Ace Madison Bumgarner may be getting ready to compete in this seasons Home Run Derby in July. Now there hasn’t actually been an invite for him to attend, but during Sunday’s batting practice in St. Louis, Bumgarner put on a show hitting a ball into the upper deck in left field.
Before the game, Bumgarner told ESPN’s Buster Olney, “I want to do it,” meaning he is ready to take on the league’s best in the Derby.
The lefty starter may not be among the leaders this season in home runs, as he is tied with starter Noah Syndergaard of the New York Mets with two dingers, but over his career, he has 13 home runs in 399 at bats, with 11 over the last three seasons.
It would be interesting to finally allow a pitcher in the contest, and who knows he may actually put on a show and that is what the Derby is all about, the stars putting on a show for the fans.
If there was a vote for the fans, he would definitely be in.
