He only needed one hit to join the exclusive major league club, and on Sunday Miami Marlins Ichiro Suzuki entered in style tripling to center field marking his 3000 major league career hit.
On July 28th, the Japanese native recorded his career 2998 hit, leaving him just two hits shy of the milestone, but with everyone in anticipation, Ichiro went 0 for 11 through seven games. Then on August 6th, he singled pulling within a hit of 3000. On Sunday, the 42 year old outfielder became just the 30th player to reach the amazing feat.
