The streak just seems to continue without much effort as Cleveland Indians #4 top prospect Francisco Mejia, reached 47 straight games with at least one hit when he doubled in the first inning of Friday nights game against the Salem Red Sox.
On Thursday, the Dominican native broke the modern-day era record for minor league baseball, when he hit in his 46th straight game, and as the games continue to pass and he is able to continue his amazing streak, he will just keep adding to his legacy as he did on Friday night.
The hit parade started on May 27th and since then he has recorded 19 multi-hit games, 12 doubles, two triples, eight home runs, and 41 RBI’s, while batting over .380 during the streak.
The amazing part about Mejia’s streak is that it started while playing with Class-A Full Season Lake County Captains, and continued after he was promoted to Class-A Advanced Lynchburg HillCats.
Will the streak continue on, follow with us as we witness Mejia’s amazing run.
